The guidelines have been in progress since last year, and are expected to be released in late summer or early fall 2002. Although these guidelines will not suggest a specific treatment protocol, they may serve as an important reference for developing correctional standards of care and management protocols for the HCV-infected inmate. The NIH will be revising its treatment guidelines in June (see Save the Dates page 9).
